Review of Homeless to Harvard

“All right, I’m gonna work as hard as I possibly can and see what happens.” This is the most impressive sentence for me in this movie. Liz Murray, who was a pathetic girl born to both drug-addicted and HIV infected parents， lived in the poorest of conditions.Her mother was dead early，her father was living in shelters later，and she was homeless. Sleeping in the subway, eating out of dumpsters„However, under this circumstance,she still completed the 4-years of high school in 2 and finished the top of class of 150.

At the awarding ceremony, when the journalist asked her how she achieved that, what she answered simply but honestly：“How could I not do it?” She regarded all adversities as parts of her life and felt lucky. She was forced to look forwardsince there was no going back for her.She waited to see what is gonna to happen to her life if she set out to work fully toward it. Finally, she made itandeverything changed.

Compared to Liz’s encounter，our situation is too comfortable to struggle for a better future. Story comes here,I think it’s really a worthy work when you are down in your life. But when the journalist continued to ask:“but is there anything you change, if you were able? ”Liz said:“Yeah，I’d give it back. All of it.If I could have my family back.”This sublimed the movie’s theme.It also reminds me of my family and my life.What the hell do I strive for？Maybe the answer to this question will never be clear to me before I have the similar experience like Liz’s.
