摘要：To provide an optical connector that enables the reduction in the number ofparts and can be easily attached to an optical cable, a concave portion for a ferrule isformed in a plug housing and a ferrule is inserted from the side of a collar portion into

the concave portion for a ferrule. A hook portion for a ferrule is provided in a protrudingcondition inside the plug housing The collar portion is guided by the hook portion for aferrule, which has been elastically deformed, and moves toward a bottom surface of theconcave portion for a ferrule. Where the collar portion reaches a space between thebottom surface and the hook portion for a ferrule, the hook portion for a ferrule iselastically restored. Therefore, even if the collar portion tries to move toward an openingof the concave portion for a ferrule, the collar portion is locked by the hook portion for aferrule and the movement is inhibited. Thus, in the plug-type optical connector theferrule can be positioned by inserting into the plug housing and moving.
