摘要：Tetraperoxides of the formula R1R1 ¦¦ R3-OO-C-OO-X-OO-C-R3 ¦¦ R2R2 where Xis a bivalent radical such as alkylene; R1 is hydrogen or an organic radical; R2 is alkylenealkoxy carbonyl; and R3 is an organic radical. Method of preparing tetraperoxides byaddition reaction between a bis-hydroperoxide and a carbonyl compound to form adihydroxy diperoxide, followed by condensation of the dihydroxy diperoxide with atertiary monohydroxide. The tetraperoxides are useful for vulcanizing saturatedelastomers, crosslinking plastomers, and initiating radical polymerization.
