Today I'd like to talk about Jinlai Zhang, or called "Liu Xiao Ling Tong", a Chinese actor who won huge fame after playing the role of Monkey King "Sun Wukong" in the 1986 TV series Journey to the West.
He is a good actor specifically for his performance of Monkey King, which could surely be regarded as the best one till now in many people's eyes, including me. However, I'm really sick and tired of hearing about his speeches on the inheritance and preservation of culture relating to Journey to the West. Firstly he condemns all sorts of adaption of Journey to the West but takes advantage of it to earn money via shooting a bulk of commercials whenever he can. Such double standards! And he even had his own picture hanged in the doorway of former residence of Wu Cheng'en, the original author of Journey to the West. It's really disgusting and disgrace! In spite of this, he is a lier! He has made up stories ignoring the facts which he and other members of production team of Journey to the West are all aware. Even to today, he uses every possible way to promote himself, regardless of how inappropriate it it. I strongly believe he needs taking down a peg or two
